A warm, inviting home, Tara Lodge is one of Northland's loveliest places to stay. Part of the beautiful Tara landscape for more than 110 years, the traditional homestead stands in a quiet country garden, overlooking rolling green downland below the Brynderwyn Hills. It is a mere five minutes from Mangawhai township.

The owners, Les and Liz Holsted, have an extraordinary passion for sharing their home with guests. They're fun-loving, sociable people who love nothing more than to join their guests in great conversation and laughter, but they also know that there are times when guests may want to be alone. It's all about making your stay at Tara Lodge unforgettable.

Tara Lodge has overnight accommodation for two couples (singles are accommodated) at any one time.
Upstairs, the exquisite 'Cherub Room' overlooks Tara's formal Long Lawn and home orchard.
Downstairs, the 'Green Room' is a place for dreamers; its antique bedcovers are bathed in morning sunshine, and there is a private doorway leading to the gardens.

Tara Lodge Tariff:

The tariff of $160 double or $110 single per night (incl GST) includes a superb, home-cooked breakfast each day. Share pre-dinner drinks with Les and Liz in winter at Tara Lodge's cosy fireside, or in summer, enjoy the end of the day light with a cool drink in the magical gardens. For many guests, dinner is a highlight and is optional for an additional $100 per couple or $50 single per night. Excellent food and wine, much of it produced at Tara Lodge, combine with your hosts' zest for living - you'll feel among friends.

And during the daytime? Take a stroll through Tara Lodge's Four-Acre Wood with its centuries-old Kauris and Totaras, or the enchanting Fairy Dell, laze in the garden, try your hand at the activities available, and enjoy exploring the 12 hectare property. Or choose one of the off-site activities.

For a small additional charge, lunch can be provided, either as a picnic if you are going out or join Les & Liz in the garden.

- Double room accommodation with private bathroom facilities
- Farm and native bush walk to view Tara Lodge's many special places (weather permitting)
- Full breakfast

Deposit:
A deposit of 50% is required to confirm bookings. Payment may be made via internet banking or by Mastercard/Visa (a 4% surcharge applies).

Cancellation policy:
Cancellation within 48hrs of arrival time, will attract a charge of one night's accommodation.
